THE PARKVILLE PROJECT

Contact Max at ParkvilleProject@muac.org.au

The Parkville Project is a long distance training squad which combines a lively social scene with serious competitive commitment. The group incorporates several experienced, qualified coaches and high performance athletes who collaboratively plan and lead training sessions. We are a diverse group made up of male and female students, alumni, local community members, internationals and ranging from Under 20s to over 60s.

This is a long distance team dedicated to pushing the limits of our capabilities within the constraints of our lives. Training structure is balanced between long intervals, short intervals, thresholds/tempo runs and racing. We are performance focused, targeting cross country and road racing in the winter and track running in the summer. We are here to support each other’s goals with our core values being consistency, hard work, and balance.

The squad welcomes all athletes. New members are invited to a 30 day probationary period to determine suitability. Members are not charged for coaching but commitment to training and competing for the club is an expectation. As such - please note that training with the Parkville Project requires a base competing membership with MUAC.

Regular training times are Tuesdays (long intervals) and Thursdays (short intervals) at 6pm generally at Parkville, with MUAC Nona Lee Sports Centre as the headquarters, also sharing weekend training on a voluntary basis. Squad leads confirm training location 48 hours prior to the session and communicate via group messaging.
